I caught the Union Pacific #844 Steam Locomotive pulling about 10 cars (and a modern freight locomotive) up thru Echo Canyon in Utah. This was the next to last day of a 32 day tour through Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and California. The train was headed back to the museum/roundhouse in Cheyenne WY.
This locomotive was THE LAST STEAM POWERED ENGINE BUILT FOR U.P. IN THE USA.
It's sister locomotive #833 is housed in the Ogden Station Museum in Ogden, UT (although the 833 does not operate).
