This is 'Fusebox Poet' performing live at "the Fillmore" in Charlotte, NC. - Their sound is a type of hard rock with a heavy edge and a commercially viable sensibility about it. From a film-makers stand-point, I wanted to dial-in the qualities and characteristics that define them both visually and sonically as a rock band. I only had 2 cameras to work with (an XL2 SD w/ a custom piece of glass on the front end, and a T1i EOS DSLR) and there was no prior preparation for the shoot, as it was a spontaneous endeavor (I was actually at the Fillmore to shoot another band); none-the-less, we rolled the cameras and this video is the result of that decision. ISO's were manually dialed-in on each camera to grab the light with minimal v-noise and the exposure was set to create the effect of a slight fuzzy-hued cellulose burn. Contrasts were curved in post until the blacks were rich and CC was minimal since the raw footage was already looking money. The inter-play between heavily contrasted areas of the stage and the bright colorful lights created a morphing canvas which contributed greatly to many successful expressions. I thoroughly enjoyed working with this fine group of professionals. If you ever have the opportunity to see these guys live, I highly recommend that you take advantage of it...
