During my exhibition "Geo Sound Helmets" at Blue Oyster Art Project Space in Dunedin, New Zealand, I was invited to have a public discussion with Dr. Su Ballard (then working at the Dunedin School of Art, and now at the University of Wollongong), to talk about electronic and digital arts in a trans-Tasman context.
Dr. Su Ballard is the Senior Lecturer in Visual and Media Art History at the University of Wollongong, Australia and until recently was the Principal Lecturer in Electronic Arts, Section Manager of Electronic Arts and Photography, and occassional Lecturer in Art Theory at the Dunedin School of Art at Otago Polytechnic, New Zealand. Ballard's research sit between media art histories and visual culture. She is interested in the experience of audience's meeting with new media, sound and image in gallery spaces. http://www.suballard.net.nz/
