Reality can be nasty and has brought us some horrible and devastating images over the last year. The earthquake in Japan at the beginning of 2011 once again showed us a very ugly side of nature that we can't control in the end.
Japanese designer Mihara Yasuhiro therefore invites us this coming Spring-Summer season, to dream and to start anew.
Coming with a very beautiful film, the collection was inspired by the idea of 'Ophelia's dream' - Ophelia being "unable to recoginse her own disaster, innocent, pure and consumed by nature", as the designer says.
The sequence might seem unusual as a fashion film to some, but pulls us into a beautiful surrounding where the main character is in complete harmony with the nature around her, encouraging us to just stop for that moment and think about our relationship with nature, the beauty of life or just simply get lost in a day dream for a couple of minutes. It is a collaboration between Mihara Yasuhiro, wo also created the music, photographer Paolo Roversiand visual design agency WOW.
Mihara Yasuhiro started his career as Footwear designer in Japan in the mid 1990s. In 2000, he started a collaboration with Puma and his first menswear collection, shown in Milan, followed in 2004. Since 2009, he also presents womenswear collections.
