Each year, dozens of Afghans, Pakistanis, or foreigners are kidnapped in the Afpak (Afghanistan-Pakistan) region. Sometimes for money, sometimes for political or religious reasons.
For those who have been abducted, each day goes by, slowly, so slowly.
For their families too.
After days, sometimes, months of detention in rough conditions, abductees and their families have agreed to testify in front of our cameras and tell their ordeal... How do you live during captivity? How do you keep on living, day after day? What inspires you during those long hours of waiting? How do you stay alive, in spite of the difficult, cruel situation you are in.
Life is also very hard for the families. How do you fill the void, how do you keep hoping? And when the liberation comes, how do you reconstruct your family? How can you ever forget what happened to you?
The purpose of this documentary is to finally hear the voices of those who were kidnapped, and all of a sudden, saw their lives turned upside down. In less than a minute, their world became a nightmare, for months and months to come. Small keepers, students, even doctors are targeted… And the families often struggle to find the ransom money and to meet the demands of the Talebans, in the name of Allah...
