This is the latest music video from Roy “Skinhead Moonstomp” Ellis. This Jamaican British performer should need no introduction to a proper connoisseur of Jamaican music. He was the singer and songwriter for Symarip, one of the first bands to specifically target the skinhead reggae scene. Their hits include “Skinhead Girl,” “Skinhead Jamboree” and, of course, “Skinhead Moonstomp,” which sold over 7 million copies in 1969. In fact, Roy’s record as one of the best selling artist for Trojan Records still stands.
As a solo act, Mr. Symarip (as Roy is also known) puts on an amazing show full of energy. If his moves don't get you, his suits certainly will. Each is custom made in England to his exact specifications. Now, with his latest CD single release on Liquidator Music, you can fall in love with his magical baritone all over again. “You Can’t Leave Now,” was shot in Vigo, Spain with talent coming together from all over Europe. The adventure that ensued resulted in what we think to be a great melding of site and sound.
