The 46 second looped video shows a tourist boat traveling down a river by the Paul-Lincke-Ufer with a short sound extract of the old children‘s nursery rhyme „row row row your boat..“.
the characters on the boat are very much being told to view something at a certain point in time. these characters have had to surrender a large amount of personal identity once they stepped foot on the tourist boat, in this case becoming tourists. the moving image is presented in slow motion offering a day dream quality while emphasizing the details of the characters. the soundtrack in the video offers an other back door to independence quoting „life is but a dream“. offering a chance for the viewer to be relinquished of any thoughts around a wider global problem and also within the exhibition.
