SEAT, A National competition to re-invent the brand’s personality

A team of 5 from Kingston, we wanted to show SEAT in a new light to a new audience. We likened the spirit of SEAT to a citrusy zing, and began to experiment with capturing reactions caused by zingy things, to show SEAT as fun, desirable and approachable. Next we explored ways of re-creating ‘the SEAT feeling’ and captured the reactions from a more varied demographic. We were asked by SEAT to send a full Treatment of our proposed film. After being approved we had two test days in the studio working out angles, lighting, sound recording, movement etc. Then gathered a varied group of people to take part in out SEAT-No-Car-Test-Drive, of which they knew nothing about. We put them each through a set of experiments and added a narrative by using ‘SEAT technicians’. We then edited a 30 second promotional film and a 1 minute Behind the Scenes film, that fits SEAT’s new tagline, ENJOYNEERING, (we had engineered an experience of enjoyment).
Thanks to Malcolm Goldie for helping us with the sound mix!
