We filmed this video at the corner 7th/Santa Fe in downtown Los Angeles, California. Since the song content represents our nation in a state of despair, this was the perfect location for the pathos I was trying to represent in the song.
Along the walls, under the bridge, and scattered with the cast-out toys, clothing, televisions, and hope, the abandoned have made a home of this rotten embankment. The sadness in their eyes cut deep, and, as the police and fire departments pulled a dead body out of the river behind us, I knew I could only imagine the things they've seen.
This video goes out to all the broken, beaten souls and degraded human beings. It goes out to everyone who feels cast-out and anyone who went to war to fight for what they didn't believe in. I sing this song for the meek, the mighty, and everyone in between. As we struggle to remain free, let's embrace the freedom we have to help one another.
Thanks to everyone for all their support and hard work in making this happen. I appreciate it more than you'll ever know.
Without further adieu...
