Larry cast Brad in one of his first acting gigs
Agency Wells, Rich, Green
Director Lawrence Bridges
Whereas he’d made his name cutting grainy, subversive “anti-commercials”, Larry decided to employ what he calls, the “180 Rule.” He went in the opposite direction of the accepted norm. He decided to go with front lighting, rather than the classically preferred back lit photography, and accelerated the shutter speed to create the extremely vivid, color saturated look of this ad that once again changed the look of advertising. The vivid, striking primary colors highlight the colors of the Pringles brand. He used a mylar mirror to create light shapes to bring out the color saturated and glossy look that became widely used in the commercials of this time period.
