In honor of Newcomb Art Museum's Virtual Family Day, Vanessa Centeno show us how to Tie Dye with paint (recommended for ages 8 and up with adults or supervised).
Materials Needed:
White cotton t-shirt or anything that is white and cotton.
Any brand acrylic paint of your favorite colors. Must be acrylic, but can be craft acrylic.*
Empty water bottles with caps, should be recyclable/disposable plastic water bottles. 1 for
each color used
Something to puncture a hole in the water bottle caps (a bamboo skewer is used in the video)
A large aluminum baking pan 9in. X 12in, or something around that size.
Kite string or rubber bands.
A metal rack (a dish rack or cookie rack works great)
