From the Event Designer:
Just two short years ago some friends and I started a supper club. A place to gather together comrades and strangers around a shared meal, perhaps to learn something new, and always to enjoy one another. We called it Bread & Bubbly – two simple delicacies that not only pair with everything, but hold promise to make everyday moments rich with celebration and meaning.
Our most recent dinner occurred on a friend’s rooftop garden; we gathered her fresh herbs and greenery, built a long table out of fence ruins, and enjoyed the late summer night. My college roommate, Bess Friday, flew up from San Francisco to take pictures and my husband, Danny Lund, got out his video camera.
Moules marinières and champagne on the balcony. Summer peaches and tomato and a fresh salmon seasoned by Chef Jason Franey of Canlis. Enough wine to go around and around. After dinner was polished off and napkins were dirty, we made our way down to the our makeshift living room – a dock with a small motor that powered out onto the open lake at a roaring 3 mph. The night ended with hints of cigar and whiskey mingling with the croon of a guitar.
