First drive of a XTM XT2 brushless electric 1/8th scale.
This is straight of of the box, standard settings and using a 7.4V 2s battery.
These things can take a 14.8v 4s pack for more power but 7.4 is fine for having a bit of fun, especially for beginners.
Pretty happy with it as it was reasonably priced and ready to run out of the box.
Remembering childhood disappointments where you'd charge a battery all night and run it out in 10min I got spare batteries. The protec RC 6200mAhr battery ran for a solid 40min or so and the turnigy Accurel 6 chager it back up in 50 min. so no bad at all.
The car took a fair beating (far more crashes than are shown), the rear wing cracked, which a lot of reviews warn us about so I'll probably beef it up with a bit of fiberglass.
Reviews also warned us of loose wheel nuts out of box, ours weere tight but we removed them and used a bit of loctite on those and the main chassy bolts and screws to keep it all tight.
It also took a hard head on with a tree which knocked the front CVD uni dog bone out of the socket, but that was an easy fix, just pop the wheel off and undo the cv to allow the dog bone back in.
Picked it up from "A Main Hobbies", who said it would take about a week to ship, turned up after just 2 days.
