The Kelburn Quartet perform the first movement: Allegro from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Quartet No. 1 in g minor, K 478.
The quartet performers are Kate Oswin (violin), John Roxburgh (viola), Lucy Gijsbers (cello) and Andrew Atkins (piano). The performance was recorded on Wednesday 25 July, 2012 in the Adam Concert Room at NZSM's Kelburn Campus, as part of the Royal Over-Seas League chamber music selection concert.
The Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL) is a non-profit organisation that supports music, arts and welfare activities. ROSL's patron is HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Princess Alexandra is the Vice-Patron. Based in the United Kingdom, ROSL was founded in 1910 to foster international understanding and friendship. Each year chamber music ensembles from throughout New Zealand are invited to compete for the Pettman/ROSL Arts Chamber Music Scholarship. Winners will spend a month in London performing, attending masterclasses and meeting some of the top ensemble performers in Britain.
