Two refugees, fifty years apart, share their oddly similar experience of arriving in London. Using archive material from Free Cinema filmmaker Robert Vas’ 1959 ‘Refuge England’ and footage of 21st Century London, Anyway Who Are You? is a lyrical and sensitive take on a hot media topic.
The film was first broadcast on Channel 4 in 2008 as part of the 'Three Minute Wonder' series. 'Anyway, Who Are You?' also screened as part of the British Film Institute's strand at the 2008 Sheffield International Documentary Film Festival and also as part of the 2009 London International Documentary Festival. The larger series ('Britain Recut') of which the film is a part series was nominated for a 2009 Focal Award for 'Best Use of Footage in a Short Production.'
