Miné Okubo was a Japanese American artist and illustrator born in Riverside, CA. Due to President Roosevelt's Evacuation Order 9066 in 1942, Okubo and her family were forced to vacate their home. Her artistic endeavors while interned led to an employment opportunity in NYC via Fortune magazine.
