Taiwan Part 2: Join Lauren DeSantis as she ventures outside of DC to get a taste of the culture and cuisine of Taiwan. In Part 2, Lauren visits a Buddhist Monastery, eats the strange food at the night market, sips some bubble tea, soaks in the hot springs and learns how to make a cocktail.
Capital Cooking: Around the Globe is a paradigmatic example of a show that belongs on public television, because it promotes cross cultural understanding and appreciation; takes care to portray its destinations respectfully but accurately; and provides a fun outlet that is appropriate for family as well as adult viewing. In an age of globalization, this is a program that is more about “showing” than just “telling,” which is an effective means to simultaneously educate and entertain.
