This video shows an animation of all the spatial debris, as well as active satellites are floating around the Earth. The visualization was an extension of a static visualization I created for Scientific American (http://sciam.com) magazine. There was not enough data available to calculate exact positions of the objects, so there is some randomness involved. However, the main intention of this visualization is to become aware of the amount of debris and satellites that are orbiting the Earth.
The static visualization and this animation have been developed in Processing (http://processing.org)
