THINGS/CHOSES is a large-scale interactive installation where the audience throws digital objects at a building to create music.
The experience starts when up to 20 people use their smartphone to access a website featuring 40 different objects to choose from. Once an object is selected, the participant “throws” the object in the direction of the projection.
Every time an object is thrown, it is represented on the projection and a sound is heard. Sounds can be a drum loop, bass, synthesizer, voice or other parts of a musical piece.
This project continues the research into smartphone sensors and how to create expressive real-time interactions with the physical world. An earlier project exploring this is called PERIOD.
