I try to hike everywhere I visit, and Wisconsin -- where I grew up -- is no exception. Here, I hike the Wild Goose State Trail from its northern terminus in Fond du Lac (MP 0.0) to Oakfield (MP 6.6). This segment crosses East Branch Fond du Lac River, Campground Creek and the Oakfield Railroad Prairie State Natural Area. I finished up with lunch & beers at Anita's Log Cabin (recommended!) in Oakfield.
The Wild Goose State Trail is a 38.4 mile long rail trail that runs from Fond du Lac southwest past the world famous birding spot at Horicon Marsh, to the tiny hamlet of Clyman Junction, just south of Juneau, in Dodge County.
