Summerland is in the North West corner of Mt Rainier National
Park an is at an elevation of 5900 feet. Round trip on the trail
is 8.5 miles with an altitude gain of 2100 feet. Hike is through
old groth fir for the first 3 miles, then crosses Fryingpan Creek
and the flower show begins. Best time for flowers is August.
