At this year's Fall Conference in Seattle, we're holding 15 separate breakouts on a range of topics from storytelling to program/communications collaboration to using data effectively. To give an advance peek at what these breakouts will cover, we’ve asked leaders of the individual sessions to share a few words about what they're planning.
For the session titled, Social Media and Social Innovation: They Both Have the Same First Name, panelists Christopher Whitlach, manager of marketing and communications, The Pittsburgh Foundation; and Perla Ni, founder and chief executive officer, GreatNonprofits, will discuss a special website, ALS Connections. The website and its accompanying competition use social media tools and tactics to tackle the issue of awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) by providing information and fostering connections within the ALS community. In the accompanying video, Whitlach gives a preview of the session...and also offers a challenge he hopes you'll take him up on.
