Here's the first series exercises I teach my patients with acute low back strains to help them stretch tight muscles and help their backs recover. Do these exercises 2x/day until you are better and no longer have back discomfort. Then move on to the Series 2 exercises. Best to do stretches once your muscles are warmed up, such as after going for a walk.
