A short film of our Streetscape Carousel in the beautiful Grade II Listed St Stephen's Chapel at West Norwood Cemetery.
The Streetscape Carousels are a series of five pavilions designed by Chloë Leen, Theodore Molloy and Steve Wilkinson. The project was commissioned by the GLA as part of the London's City Dressing scheme during the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012. Each Carousel uniquely refers to its context, showcasing local architecture and landmarks. The West Norwood Carousel celebrates elements from the Magnificent Seven cemeteries of London. With light, the shadows of the silhouettes are thrown back onto their surroundings. By turning a handle, the ghostly silhouettes can be made to dance across the walls.
