A collection of photographs and words of the ‘hear my heart’ project was held to give a voice to those who have experienced abuse in their life

The exhibition first opened as part of the SheppARTon festival in March,2012 in Shepparton, Victoria. The project featured in U.S in September 2012 and at the ‘No to Violence’ National Conference in Melbourne in November, 2012. The project exhibited in June 2013 at Mooroopna Hub, Mooroopna.

Women were hand selected by Relationships Australia and Vincent Care to be part of this project. The women were guided to explore their hearts whilst sharing thoughts and feelings. The journey and going through the process of the project was just as important as the exhibition. We believe that this project is a way to help women in their journey of recovery.

Protecting the women’s anonymity was very important and this is why their faces are not shown.

The exhibition has been described as place of healing. Many people, both young and old have been touched and inspired in many different ways. Since holding this exhibition upon invitation I have presented to teenage girls and other women to help them in their life journey.
