In “Invisible Cities”, Italo Calvino quotes Ercilia, a city where wires are extended to refer to relationships between people and things. From time to time, Ercilia is abandoned and reassembled elsewhere. In dialogue with the movement of urban development and the human existence suggested by the author, “De Novo, Ercilia” is intended to be itinerant and in the first version, Ercília is Sao Paulo. “De Novo, Ercília” is an interactive sound installation that invites visitors to walk through it and try different body patterns by the interaction with a structure full of rubber bands.
In the openning day at MIS - Museu da Imagem e Som, the performer Eduardo Fukushima was invited to try the whole structure.
