The new season will open with the Danish premiere of THE BLUE, BLUE SEA which is written by the young German playwright, Nis-Momme Stockmann. He has written a number of award-winning plays which are performed all over Germany and translated into several languages. THE BLUE, BLUE SEA had its world premiere in 2010 at Schauspiel Frankfurt where Nis-Momme Stockmann has been writer-in-residence since 2009.

The action takes place in a hopeless residential area somewhere on the outskirts of town, where Darko and his wasted friend, Elle, are drinking their brains out day after day. During a clumsy attempt to commit suicide with a washing line and a pair of nail scissors, Darko meets the local drug whore, Motte, and in the middle of lost dreams, moral decay and deathly stagnation they begin to hope and long for something completely different. Something more, something real which lies on the other side of the ghetto’s grey borders: THE BLUE, BLUE SEA.

THE BLUE, BLUE SEA is presented by Husets Teater in co-operation with Teater Nordkraft from Aalborg and the performance is made by a talented group of young Danish stage artists.
