Jeremy Atkinson is England's last remaining clog maker using traditional craft skills. Lynwen and Dave from Artisan were intrigued, so we met up with him earlier this year at his small shop / workshop in Kington, deep in the West Country of England.
This is the first of 6 videos in which Jeremy shows how to make traditional English clogs.
He talks about the wood traditionally used in clog making; demonstrates how to hand cut a block of wood with a blocker, or stock knife, transforming it into the sole of the clog; and talks about the properties of the stock knife and the changing use of the name over the years.
