Originally my intention was to shoot a lens test for the Lumix 12-35 G X lens that had only been released for a few weeks. I wanted to go light and move fast since I was short on time so I only took my home made IGUS slider attached to my Gitzo tripod and my AF-100 with the Lumix 12-35 attached to the San Diego Mission and captured some shots. What a beautiful church and surrounding gardens. I used to go to the mission with my 5D and shoot stills. What a treat to now shoot video.
When I started going over the footage I really liked the images of the new lens and decided I would like to do more.
A few days later I went back and spent some time inside the church and around the gardens.
I had to push the camera to ISO 800 for the interiors since it's kind of dark inside. I did use Denoiser II on a couple of shots. Still a bit noisy but I can live with it.
The Lumix lens is very nice. Sharp and bright with a good solid build. We need more lenses like this from Panasonic.
The mission is a special place for me. My niece and nephew where baptized there. It's a beautiful place to visit if your in San Diego.
