Nova Festival's debut took place over the weekend of 6-8th July 2012 at Bignor Park, West Sussex
"Nova proved itself a right little star, with top notch live acts, lovely staff, delicious food, and boundless enthusiasm and imagination…" - Brighton Argus
"The words talented, funny and heartfelt seem to conjure up the essence of Nova" - Spoonfed
"In fact F&*k it, it's a house party (without the house and a little extra party)… Intimate, spiritual and not a Prada flip flop in sight" - Clash Magazine
Under a canopy of majestic trees and nestled in the heart of the South Downs 'Novaliers' soaked-up a true muso's line-up of new and established live acts and djs. They revelled in the bizarre opportunity to putt golf balls through Hitler's legs and topple Saddam whilst playing a round on Doug Fishbone, Jake and Dino Chapman, David Shirgley and co's dictator inspired crazy golf course. They were led away by twenty white rabbits, got 'treated' in a field hospital, made hats, jewellery, wood carvings, sketched neon nudes and took lessons in burlesque. They danced like loons. They bobbed in hot tubs, chilled to film, drank cocktails in the bricks and mortar Nova Arms. They awakened their minds and their hearts with readings and talks in the Wordsmithy. They warmed themselves until the early hours by the open camp fires and joined in true candle-waving, folky singalongs.
With all this Nova made it's beautiful (if slightly squelchy) debut onto the festival circuit and will return next year over the weekend 11-14th July in the same gorgeous location with even more whimsical and raucous treats. Join us!
