This is a performance piece I did on the complexities of fanatics that dedicate their life to something they wholeheartedly believe they are good at. The idea that we lie to ourselves whether it be by influence or just plain ignorance is a danger in today's America. This tends to grow a deeper fantasy and rupture of attitude toward true talent.
I created the character of Cornelius after I watched a lot of Early 90s audition tapes for puppeteering. What I quickly realized was a lot of the puppeteers were channeling their internal conflicts and emotional instabilities through their puppets, whether they knew it or not. - Evan Spencer Brace
