The Completed Life Initiative & End of Life Choices New York are co-sponsoring this Discussion Event for the documentary film, “Prescription for Peace of Mind: An Option for the Terminally Ill,” about patients and their families who seek Medical Aid-in-Dying (MAID) legislation to pass in Connecticut.
The film explores the stories of three patients who would have preferred the option to access a prescription at the end of their lives, as well as family members of those who died unbearable deaths. Sharon Hines - a stage 4 cancer patient, former an oncology nurse, and advocate for MAID in the Connecticut legislature - is one of the patients featured and interviewed in the film, and joins the Panel Discussion.
This event is a moderated discussion between those featured in the film, including Sharon Hines, Shannon E. Sanford, Reverend Joshua Pawelek, and Rabbi Michael Farbman. Also joining the panel are the film's director, Karin Schwanbeck, and Ayana Woods, Executive Director of End of Life Choices New York. Sarah Kiskadden-Bechtel moderates the panel.
