Social Structures / Alicia Mujynya: Moderation - Green

Leisure, Moderation - Green, and Fast ii are three experimental film-movements that incorporate animation, live action, and text. The work explores abstracted happenings of our everyday lives during the COVID-19 crisis. Because of the pandemic, our regular routines with regard to work and relationships have come to a grinding halt. This has caused many of us to reflect on what these routines are really all about — if they truly have substance and if they elicit fulfillment. The work depicts how monotony, isolation, jealousy, and the passing of time shapes our outlook of the present as we shelter-in-place, and contemplates how interconnectivity, empathy, and care provide fertile ground for what a post-COVID future could look like.
