Daniel Ochieng believed at a young age that God's plan for him was to help other people. In an area of Kenya with staggeringly high HIV/AIDS prevalence, Daniel has partnered with Christian Mission Aid (CMA) for 20 years to bring change to his community, to care for needy widows and orphans, and to fulfill the calling he has been given.
I became involved with CMA in 2005 when I traveled to Kenya to volunteer with them for a month. My life has never been the same, and I vowed that someday I would return to really make a difference. After acquiring my BFA in photography and stumbling into film, I began my non-profit video career when I returned to Kenya with my husband in November of 2011 to create some short films for some missionaries there. From that point, I was commissioned by CMA in June to film for three weeks, and to put together two short promotional videos, and to write and design a commemorative booklet celebrating their history. It has been an honor to work with CMA and I hope to continue partnering with them for many years to come.
