This film tells the story of a research project focusing on Gender Equality, Education and Poverty (GEEP) in South African and Sudan. The GEEP project sets out to address issues related to equality, equity, education and poverty in two post-conflict settings. The questions focused upon in the project relate to how global aspirations to advance gender equality are understood and practiced in local contexts. In this film we attempt to highlight some of the issues which confront gender equality in education and in doing so, we talk to students, teachers, principals and researchers involved in the project along with international experts.
