A tactile installation that gives form to low-frequency sounds, to be heard, seen and felt. Created in collaboration with Artist and Technologist Mike Blow, ‘Pod’ gives physical form and shape to sound at the cusp of human hearing.
Humming sounds emanate from within a collection of large ‘pods’ each with a speaker inside, emitting low pulsing sounds similar to the natural resonant frequency of the balloons. ‘Pod’ translates the low frequency sounds into a visual object to be heard, seen and felt. With their own physical presence, the sounds can be experienced in new ways, associating a texture, size and shape with the frequencies being heard.
