Isaac is 8 weeks old in this video, taken just a couple days after he arrived at the sanctuary. He is enjoying exploring the chicken yard on a gorgeous late summer/early fall day.
The chickens, turkeys, and peacock aren't sure what to think about him!
From the PSAS facebook page: "Little Isaac the piglet is on his way here from Louisiana, where he was rescued from the flood waters of Hurricane Isaac. He is a wild pig, only about 8 weeks old, but he is very friendly and tame thanks to the loving care he received at Rescue Ranch in LA after he was pulled out of the water by animal control. A huge thanks to volunteer Howard Edelstein, who was in LA helping care for animals displaced by the floods, alerted us about the little pig who needed a home, and cancelled his flight home and rented a car to drive little Isaac the 18 hour trip to Poplar Spring. He will never have to worry again about being hunted or chased by dogs (a common occurence in that area), and will be able to live here happily with the 40 other rescued pigs. He should mature to about 300 lbs. when he is full grown."
