What we can do is use the Ethernet Module as a local high speed switch between servers connected to the vNET
What I'm showing now is a diagram that shows the traffic flows for internal versus external packets for servers connected to a vNET. As you can see, data traffic headed externally goes straight through the shared I/O Module to the network. Traffic that is bound for another server on the same I/O Module essentially cuts through the module back to the destination server, saving time and speeding up the migration.
