Our good friends over at the Art Gallery of NSW were planning an exhibition of epic proportions and they enlisted us to help get in touch with their audience. We had our work cut out for us. Australia has never seen a Francis Bacon exhibition of this magnitude, and the initial research had indicated that the majority of discerning art-goers were a little repelled by Bacon’s controversial work.
We needed to not only offer viewers an informed perspective about why Bacon’s work is so important, but also to document how an exhibition of this size comes together. So we created a 3-part mini-documentary series over the space of 6 months to be released one-by-one in the months leading up to the November 2012 launch.
The campaign, thus far, has been a resounding success and features on the Francis Bacon Estate blog and ABC Arts Portal.
