Built with Processing
Project for Procedural Composition Class
In the mid 60's, Sol LeWitt made the statement "[...] the idea becomes the machine that makes the art." in regards to the changing climate of the art world as related to conceptual art. Among other ideas, LeWitt was interested in the creation of systems that would be the "creator" of the artwork. Quite literally, he was writing sets of instructions, known to us now as programs, that could be rendered by gallery assistants or drafts people in essence creating his art objects for him. In the same manner, we are now creating similar programs in Processing written in a computer language instead of English that builds an artwork.
