It was an impromptu setup for our first test video. After 3 weeks of learning CS6.0, Resolve and working on a big crop factor, we thought that the crop might work well for macro shots and it did. This was shot on our very messy work desk with all the lights turned off except for one fluorescent tube above the watch. ASA was set to 1600 most of the time as the lens was only F2.8.
What we found, was RAW does make a big difference in Resolve. The image can be pushed further than a DSLR image. In layman terms, we could make something out of the BLACKS instead of one big BLACK patch. We are wedding folks and not experts, but the imagery was sufficient to impress us from the price point of the camera. This video was compressed for Vimeo.
