In our newest "Shout My Story" film we explore the odd, yet surprisingly common phenomenon of doctors who recommend abortion to parents who have a diagnosis of fetal abnormality.
You will meet three families whose children were diagnosed with a life limiting condition, were urged to choose abortion by doctors, and yet chose life.
You will also see the joy and potential of their children: Cody, who was diagnosed with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome); Faith, who was diagnosed with Trisomy 18, and Mary Grace, who was diagnosed with anencephaly.
Children with life limiting diagnoses are not expected to live long outside the womb. Although we have found that many can live for months or years, those with anencephaly do not. When John and Molly Kurt faced this reality with their first child, Mary Grace, they unhesitatingly chose life, and they share their story, which contains sorrow, of course, but also, perhaps surprisingly, joy.
