A time-lapse of the 2012 Fireflies West Ride. Mounted to my bike fork with a custom mount and solar powered batteries, I set my GoPro to 2 second intervals. I ran it for each of the 6 days and then stitched together the 60,000 images in this little film, set to my track "We Can Make A Difference," from the film "How I Became an Elephant."
The 5th annual Fireflies West ride, September 14-19th 2012, is 6 days of cycling from San Francisco to LA, 550 miles down the California coast, in aid of the City of Hope hospital. This charity ride is a spin-off of the main Fireflies ride which takes place in June every year in the French Alps. Most of the riders are people who work in the advertising and production community.
