The Solar Map was developed by the Sustainable Design Lab at MIT (mit.edu/SustainableDesignLab) and MoDe Studio (modeonline.com) – a consulting, design, and development workshop based in Boston – in collaboration with the City of Cambridge Community Development Department. MIT created the annual electricity yield map from PV for virtually all Cambridge rooftops, MoDe Studio designed and developed the online viewer as well as its financial and environmental modules, while the City of Cambridge provided the underlying data and images. Support for this project was also provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF) as well as Cambridge’s Information Technology Department. To be launched October 3rd, 2012.
Cambridge is the first municipality to use MoDe's Solar Tool. Check it out here: cambridgema.gov/solar/
