In the Hunter Region Shirley Chapman coordinates the annual Hunter Knit In. a day-long event involving hundreds of knitters, crocheters and sewers in a coordinated push to support Wrap With Love.
On Friday, August 10, 2012, knitters from far and wide gathered to knit, network and natter, at the 20th annual Hunter Knit-In, at Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery.
The gallery hosted the day-long event where 'endurance knitters' were invited to knit all day 'fueled by morning and afternoon tea'.
ABC Open Hunter producer Anthony Scully teamed up with students from five surrounding Hunter high schools to capture a typical day in the life of the knit-in organiser.
Thanks to Jackson Carey, Thomas Jones, Jody Rowsell, Katey Standford and Oliver Wesley for time lapse photography and additional camera work on the day.
