Erotic Dance for Self is a short screen dance that aims to stimulate dialogue about identity and sexuality in relation to sensual dance. The movement exists in a solo paradigm that, by default of lesbian sexuality, resists male gaze and objectification, both of which are commonly understood as stigmatic to erotic dance. The multiple layering of each dance attends to the traditional aesthetic of erotic movement, as well as showing that it can exist in different forms and in spaces outside of strip clubs. The rest, which is full of vicarious innuendo, is up to you to interpret.
