As the west was carved up by Dominion Land Surveyors in final preparation for colonization, these surveyors left us an important and highly detailed glimpse into the landscape of the Beaver Hills as they were at the end of the Age of Forts. The township maps recorded by these surveyors provide us with a unique stage on which to explore the many stories of these historic hills.
