Young folksinger and mild-mannered pacifist Herbert Meakin unwillingly finds himself torn from a peaceful life and dropped on an anonymous island in the midst of a guerrilla war.
Entrenched deep in the woods and faced with the constant threat of an unseen enemy garrisoned in the local town, the typically aloof Meakin is forced into an unnerving bond with a disparate battalion of sociopathic aberrant soldiers
After a string of silent killings escalate camp hysteria, the erratic Major Paradocks initiates an order to construct a defensive twig alarm system around the perimeter of the camp in preparation for more aggression. As the camp prepares for the inevitable onslaught, the group’s already brittle sanity is worryingly strained and Meakin is left with a big decision. To stay and spend his final days fighting alongside this group of maniacal comrades or escape, and risk leaving behind his only realistic chance of a home.
