In this talk, Coniglio will:
* Offer a lively and critical reflection on the dance and technology/interactive performance scene that emerged in the mid-1990s, focusing on his work with Troika Ranch, the dance performance group he co-founded with choreographer Dawn Stoppiello, and Isadora – a software tool he created to allow him to realize his interactive performances.
* Trace the development of that practice into more recent times, showing how technological tools have entered the vernacular of art making practice and thus changed artistic practice in this arena
* Conclude with a series of proposals and strategies for keeping media intensive performances vital and compelling in the future
