Here's a quick flythrough of the amazing California Extreme 2012 classic arcade and pinball game show. Shot with a Canon 5D Mk II and stabilized with a Steadicam Merlin.
The song is 'Something Wicked This Way Comes" by Barry Adamson, from the 1996 album "Oedipus Schmoedipus".
This was my first time shooting with a 5D and my first time operating a Steadicam rig. The slight vibration in some of the shots is the muscles in my arms failing because I wasn't using an arm and vest with the Steadicam(would have been overkill for this location IMO).
One of the most important things I learned was to use a fast SSD card when shooting video with the 5D to prevent the stutters you see in some of the longer shots. I also should have disabled the annoying auto shadow detail enhancement.
Canon Mk II, Canon 28mm f 1.8 USM, Rode Videomic, Steadicam Merlin
Shooting 24p, 50 shutter, f1.8 800 ASA later changed to f2.8 1280 ASA
Edited and color graded with FCPX and slightly de-noised with Neat Video.
